Handmade Therapy

Since being released from the R.S. Presidency I have been in a constant state of 'create'. It seems like I can't get enough - yes, I have been known to produce to a point of possible excess.

It all started with a few little princess skirts for the nieces at Christmas. Since I had no idea what I was doing, they were simply acceptable (by my standards). Nothing more:)

But since then I've perfected the process and to date have made a grand total of 27 skirts. Yes, you read it correctly. 27! The picture above shows Gracie with 9 of the skirts before the beginning of her birthday party. The premise was that each of the girls was given a broom/duster/etc. at the beginning of the party and told to clean the house. After a few minutes we had Jackson (dressed like the duke in Cinderella) ring the doorbell and read a proclamation saying there was going to be a ball. Every maiden is invited!
We had the skirts ready, so we let them pick one and also do their hair and makeup. They went to the ball (games and food) and then we opened presents. They were surprised to see that their 'lost shoe' was full of a candy bag when it was time to go. Fun had by all. A successful party. One more down:)
Now onto the next obsession.

joye to the world

After much deliberation and contemplation, 'the blog' is finally up. Running is another matter. Walking is probably more like it...slow and sure. We'll get there. Happy day!
